2.5% increase in June in social assistance benefits for 250 000 households whose members are able to work.
Creation of the Action emploi program. The program is intended for people who have been receiving social assistance benefits for at least three years and who return to work full time. The program will offer a supplement equal to:
- $3 an hour for the first year;
- $2 an hour for the second year;
- $1 an hour for the third year.
Setting up of a reserve of $100 million to cover the most urgent needs, particularly for social housing.
