A Message from the Minister of Finance

I am pleased to present our government’s first budget, which is in line with our commitments to Quebecers.

This budget presents major initiatives aimed at addressing the concerns of Quebecers and at implementing a long-term vision that will enable Québec to take charge of its future.

The government’s actions are focused on health, education and the economy, but certain measures are also included to reduce the tax burden on taxpayers, accelerate the transition to a greener economy and enhance support for communities.

In a context where economic growth is expected to be more moderate, we continue to manage public finances rigorously and prudently. As a result, budgetary balance will be maintained for the coming years without resort to the stabilization reserve.

Our first budget addresses current needs while laying the foundations for a modern and thriving Québec in which future generations will be able to reach their full potential.
